IVAN1, Utilizing MA's is one tool. It is an art not a science. There is no concrete right answer to your Q.

If you are trying to actively manage and avoid whipsaws and looking for early entry and exits points the 5 day crossover of the 9 EMA and 16 day MA. When the 5 day crosses above the other MA's- BUY. When it crosses below - SELL. It takes emotion out of the equation.

If you want to passively manage(less ins and outs) MA's on QQQ or some other ivestment the 13 day MA over the 50 day MA works wonders with 25 day EMA. <eom>
