Let me add one more element so critical to all of this: Time. The great war which will gear up this summer is going to be decided, at some level, by the end of the year. I don't mean AMD or INTEL will roll over and die, but an entirely new set of stratgic partnerships and alliances will be solidified. Right now the leverage the DRAM fabs have is incredible, likewise other component makers. But...this won't last. Smart companies adjust and neither Intel nor AMD wants to be in a position at the most critical point of market penetration, with the fastest, hottest processor and a strong world-wide economy ready to buy it, not be be able to produce product as fast as possible. All the pricing games built into the companies' strategies won't work if the product is not available!!!!.
So, the deals need to be tied down and locked up in, I think, the next sixty days. Maybe sooner. Look for massive FUD, rumor and counterrumor on who is doing what to whom, but Intel clearly has its wallet out and is ready to buy what it needs. If Hyundai "cracks", others will follow.

I am not anti-AMD, but I have never owned the stock (because I believe they just cannot play and win in the ultimate high stakes game Intel intends to play), I think the stock market agrees, as Intel does well recently and AMD suffers a little. All of this as the battle plans become a little more evident and the clock winds down.

Should be a great summer to watch it all unfold. Good luck to everybody.
