Further gun control may not be the answer. I suggest public executions, using medievel execution methods. My favorite is devouring by rats. A goodly number of rats are starved, and then unleashed on the "victim", who is devoured piece by piece. With today's medical technology, the process could go on for days, and the murderous scum kept alive and conscious to enjoy the entire (telivised) experience. I would pick for this one of the more notorious serial child murderers/rapists we now maintain the comfort of our prisons. I'll bet you the murder rate would drop to near zero after that spectacle. We might only have to do it once.
