The writing's on the wall, the floor, the windows. . . The strongest index was the Sox, aided by the prop jobs in Intel, Micron and Rambus. The disconnect there continues to be absolutely staggering, considering the information that's coming out. Today, EMachines (EEEE) apparently told analysts that the last two to three weeks' sales have really tapered off, and its inventory has now doubled. It's interesting to note that its CFO resigned today as well.

Who here would let a friend make their next computer an Emachine? Emachines used to be the bargin PC master, but now the big names are effectively competing on price. Also ASP's for computers are going up, because people don't want Yugos.

More importantly though, consumer spending in the US is going down- inventories up. This is good in my book. A fast slowdown in consumer spending is just what AG ordered. The more confidence AG has in his joystick, the the higher he's going to risk flying.
