<<So if Bush is elected, things like this won't happen anymore?>>

No, people will always kill people. Outlaw guns, knives, bats, gasoline, down to clubs and someone will still kill.

It's the attitude of the Clinton administration. They keep calling for more laws even though there are enough on the books that if they were enforced would keep guns away from more criminals. It's the idea when they pass another new law they can crow about solving the problem.

Interesting thing I saw today on an outdoor program hosted by a lawyer on why federal gun laws aren't being prosecuted. The laws might go to the Supreme Court and be overturned. In all the case law before the Supreme Court there has never been a 2nd Amendment case.

Well, first, I meant it as an ironic echo of the propensity to attribute anything out of the ordinary that happens in a given time period to an administration, especially if it suits an ideological purpose. Second, there does seem to be a rash of such incidents in this decade, and it would be interesting to speculate about the common thread. If pressed, I would say that Clinton is more symptom than cause. Third, I have no idea if they will suddenly cease in the next decade, but I do think that electing Bush will improve the moral atmosphere of the country..........
