>> Are we not due for at least some kind of bear market bounce?

My dream and fond hope is that once momentum stocks stop going up (they have) and start coming down (they have), they will accelerate their slide down as they are abandoned as a vehicle for making stock market profits. (until a new round of speculators are lured into the market).

The people who don't buy QCOM at a P/E of 200, also don't buy it at 100 or at 50 P/E. And the people who might buy the dip did that 4 times in the last 2 months, and each time it was a loser. Now we are trying to fall through NASDAQ 3000, which I think will trigger a new round of margin calls. So I don't see a bounce for the NASDAQ composite, though there are still many stocks with single digit P/E and reasonable profit growth. I hope those will rally. But I am not holding my breath. The problem is that newly impoverished momentum traders are not likely to buy value stocks.
