Based upon the above link. IMHO, it seems that the "chip" is feasible for commercial production. I believe that it could be mass-produced with relatively minor changes to existing equipment. The "chip" is made from common semiconductor materials. The caveat is that one the above article was correct and second, since was written for the non-technical reader that no subtenant changes occurred.
