Natural resources: Nickel, cobalt, iron ore, copper, manganese, salt, timber.
Agriculture: Products--sugar, citrus and tropical fruits, tobacco, coffee, rice,
beans, meat, and vegetables.

Cuba does not have "LOTS" of oil. I believe it has a "sugar for oil" program with the former USSR- or at least it has had such a program in the past.
