Who says the OS company wouldn't have the tools business, rudedog? Or conversely, who says that if the app company gets the tools, they would produce a worse, or higher priced, product? This is all a rather theological argument, of course, and I'm decidedly agnostic on the issue. I just don't see where you've stated anything that couldn't have come out of Microsoft PR, or that has any particular concrete basis in fact, versus speculation. I'm a bit jaded about "world in flames without Microsoft" arguments too. Been there, done that. Cheers, Dan.
