marginmike, that could very well be because in other downward markets, the economic conditions were not as strong as they are now. There are rapidly growing companies in the tech heavy Nasdaq with now reasonable PE's that will continue to flourish, even in a rising interest rate environment.

It remains to be seen at this time that a max pain point NEEDS to be felt before there is a bounce of any type. What happens if we drop another 15-30% and there is still the same sentiment as ther is now? Do you predict that the market needs to continue to drop from there just because?

The other factor right now is that this is an election year. I would be surprised if we don't end up the year at least at 4k on the Nasdaq.
given that, who cares where we go in the short term?
