It's not only a problem with Illegal Mexican immigrants, but Illegal, Chinese, Vietnamese, Nicaraguan's, Iranian's and Iraqi as well ascolumbian drug smuglers crossing with the "coyotes". The Coyote's will get you into the desert for as little as $200.
Staying alive is another matter. The whole purpose of this thread was to let people outside of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and California know what really is going on along their southern boarder.
I think it's a shame that we have troops oversea's and our southern borders are wide open.
I also think it is inhumane to allow these people to die in the desert. And who knows how many flakes and spies get across the border? If Sadam wants to visit, he could and we wouldn't even know he was here.
JMHO. We need to protect the borders, the same way the Canadian and Mexican government protect their borders.

The radio in Tucson has reported that a group of 300 individuals from Texas are coming to the border town of Douglas to help out., Since they will be armed and will be protecting the borders, the U.S and Janet Reno have asked that they not get involved.
Senator John Kyle wants them to stay out, but the ranchers and farmers are worn out trying to deal with the problem.
You will probably see something about this in your local paper if anything flares up.
Also.... The local Tucson paper ran a story on the front page about a woman from Mexico that died in the desert, 15 miles from the border. She died clutching her 3 month old in her arms . It was a sad story and very true. If the U.S. could stop the border crossings they would help preserve human life .
JMHO.
The southern Border of the United States is wide open.
