With respect to the highs set in 1997, the semi-equips have not done as well as the SOX-X and the NASDAQ. With the close on Friday, the semi-equips are down 1 percent, the SOX-X is up 129 percent, and the NASDAQ is up 84 percent. The range between the winners and losers in the semi-equips is tremendous.
