Cirrus,

<Yeah, people who think AMD is dead past 2000 will have to revaluate their thinking process...again. ;)>

This has been one of the most common themes from people who have not spent the time to understand product ramps and market segments (but are into AMD now and want to get rich quickly and sell AMD before Wilamette gets launched)

<I'm interested to see what analysts who are skeptical about AMD's chance against vs. Willy say when Dresden opens and no production glitches will be found.>

It will probably be months before analysts gain that confidence and then there will be a new thing from Intel to worry about....

No analyst (that I can remember) said Intel is in trouble because of the old PPro core compared to AMD's new Athlon core but these same analysts will very likely tell us why AMD is severely disadvantaged with Athlon core compared to Wilamette core.

Chuck

Cirrus,

I noticed an analyst who in fact projects lower earnings for 2001 than 2000 even though AMD will have additional fab in 2001.
