Hide known extensions...

My Explorer matches yours.

If I uncheck the hide box, more file extensions get displayed than when checked. It seems that those files deemed part of the Windows family still enjoy omitted extensions though.

If checked, the extensions recognized by Explorer gets omitted. These extensions can be changed, deleted, or added by selecting the File Types tab in Explorer/View.

If you recognize the various icons used, you'd know what the extension for each file happens to be; otherwise, you're guessing.

Anyway, it looks like un-checking this box will display all extensions for non-windows files. If displaying non-windows extensions is the same as displaying DOS extensions, then the commands are similar enough. Are eyes glazing over yet?

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I use some of my own extensions, not recognized by either DOS or Windows. These get displayed wether the box is checked or not. (Example: Filename.JIC --- Just In Case it's needed later.)
