Anyone notice how the spammers are coming to this board now that oil/gas is getting attention?

The oil business has a jaded reputation for being the province for snake oil salesmen. Some say that an oil well is nothing but a hole in the ground with a liar on top. There will sure be some money made with these little obscure companies, but why take the risk? Plenty of opportunity in the 'known names'.

Buyer beware.

SENATOR WARNS SUMMER GAS PRICES COULD HIT $2.25 A GALLON

Gasoline prices will hit $2.25 a gallon this summer unless action is taken now, U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer [D-NY] predicted Monday.

Schumer said the Clinton administration could help drive prices down by releasing federal oil reserves into the market -- immediately.

Schumer declared: "It points a dagger at the heart of our economy... If OPEC continues to constrict supplies of oil and we fail to release reserves, the price of gasoline will go to $2 this summer and $2.25 by Labor Day."

Energy Secretary Bill Richardson tells Tuesday?s NEW YORK TIMES that Schumer is being an "alarmist" and gas prices will be at a national average price of $1.40 to $1.45 a gallon by the end of summer.
