Mani,

re: Athlon cheaper than a Celeron

Well let's see, AMD might be sold out for Q2.
Gateway doubling their orders.
eMachines stuck with a bunch of non-AMD based systems.

Sounds good to me, for iNteL to have more capacity for their current "DeMan exceeds DeSupply from DeDumpster" situation.

That should really keep DOJ off iNteL's back.
Brilliant plan Otellini, Barrett, and Gelsinger!
Our friends!

Make it so,
Mysef

Re: Has anyone noticed that Athlon is selling for less than the Celeron?

No - a quick visit to
thechipmerchant.com
shows the newly introduced FCPGA Celeron II selling for $99 to $145 while the end of life and now out of production cartridge Athlon is being closed out at $154 to $737.

Regards,

Dan
