Taiwan Urges Institutional Investors to Buy Stocks, Paper Says Taipei, May 30 (Bloomberg) -- Taiwan's Securities and Futures Commission yesterday phoned mutual fund Companies and proprietary trading desks at securities firms in an effort to stem selling in the stock market, the Economic Daily News reported, citing unidentified people in the securities industry. The commission urged the companies to be net buyers today and tomorrow, and asked them to fax summaries of their daily trading activity, the paper said.
