richard, what has rattled the cages is that Rambus is real. It is not perfect, but it is real and growing. The Willy rollout is just too darn close for the naysayers. If Intel gets the chip supplies kicked up (and I believe they will...at any cost) and a CPU price war escalates later this year, Rambus will get entrenched in both upper and upper-mid systems. If DDR is late, and it may well be,...well, it may be a tough climb for them. God help them if they have traditional launch snafus. Carl and Dan3 have assured me, however, that this won't happen. We'll see.

Also, Playstation launch in USA later this year is another huge PR boost for Rambus. Watch for more "congratulatory" ads by Rambus for Sony upon sale of x millionth system.

Richard,

The FUD machine is in overdrive! Why? There are supposed to be some announcements for AMD's T-bird and Spitfire equipped platforms next week with possibly some demo's from Taiwan.

I suspect that we will not see any DDR platforms in volume this year. So AMD has to "prove" that RDRAM is dead to sell their SDRAM platforms this year. I could be that benchmarks are dead. Yes! It is becoming more important prove that SDRAM is the memory of the future. <LOL>

Meanwhile, the AMD insiders are net sellers of their companies stock and INTEL insiders are net buyers.
The time to short AMD is nigh. <G>
