Maurice, Drew: what lovely tributes to your dads! Thank you (and them). If you haven't read it already, I'll go out on a limb and recommend Tom Brokaw's book "The Greatest Generation". Not a few critics have panned it as nothing more than a love fest for the men and women who fought in the Great War. I say the hell with the critics. If that generation isn't worthy of praise I reckon I don't know who is. Thanks for sharing your family experiences. best, mike doyle
