[5 May 2000. Unterberg reiterates "Strong Buy". $32 Target.]

This is over a month old, but I just found it now.
They initially came out with a "Strong Buy" and a
$32/sh price target on 13 April when CHY was trading
at around $7 or $8/sh (down from the $13/sh peak).

When they reiterated the rating/target on 5 May,
CHY had just reported their Q1 financial results
and we were trading around $5/sh. Now we're at $3/sh.

Since 5 May, we've had no significant news (good or bad)
so I can only presume that this Unterberg analyst hasn't
changed his opinion. It will be interesting to see what
happens when Q2 results are released (early August?).

Slow sales push Chyron lower

By Ted Griffith, CBS.MarketWatch.com
Last Update: 12:15 PM ET Jul 28, 2000

MELVILLE, N.Y. (CBS.MW) - Shares of Chyron fell Friday after
the company reported second-quarter revenue declined 1
percent from last year's second quarter.

Shares declined 3/8, or 16.7 percent, to 1 7/8 in recent
action.

The maker of broadcasting equipment and software said
second-quarter revenue slipped to $16 million from $16.2
million in the year-ago quarter. Chyron (CHY: news, msgs)
blamed the revenue decline on uncertainty in the market
related to the introduction of digital technology. The
company said the weakness of the euro relative to the dollar
had also hurt second-quarter revenue.

"From my point of view our overall financial performance this
quarter was disappointing," Roger Henderson, Chyron's
president and chief executive, said in a statement. "However,
the strategy we adopted last year to realign our graphics
products with our existing customers' needs is bearing fruit
in some areas, notably with the Aprisa and Lyric/DUET product
lines."

Chyron said its net loss for the second-quarter was $1.9
million, or 5 cents per share, down from a net loss of $25.2
million, or 78 cents per share, in the year-ago second
quarter. Results for the 1999 second quarter included
nonrecurring charges totaling $6.7 million.

The company was expected to lose 5 cents per share, according
to the average estimate of analysts polled by First Call.

Short article mentions Chyron & Streaming Media...

Excerpt:

Web-based video is exploding, says GVC, and broadcasters must
become "digicasters" who are equally adept at putting content
on the Web as they are at putting it out over the air. Chyron
had a similar message at its press conference, saying it was
doing away with the term broadcasting and embracing the term
"media casting" as a more accurate representation of the
redefined focus of the company. With market analysts
predicting 170 million streaming channels by 2005, Chyron
sees the web market as one that can't be ignored.

Aprisa DDR User Notes
What Can Variable InPoint Looping Do For Me?

Have you ever had the need for a flexible animated sequence to "fly-on",
land, and then loop forever? How about doing this without sacrificing a lot
of recording time and disk space? The new Variable InPoint Looping feature
in the Aprisa DDR allows for just that! Every stream within a single Aprisa
Event. (2 x video and 8 x audio) can now have its own individual loop
inpoint. Develop an animation in Liberty or After Effects that animates
onto the screen for four seconds (frames 0-119). Now, match the last frame
of the first sequence to the first frame of a second sequence that
seamlessly spins in a loop for another four seconds (frames 120-239).
Render or import both animations as one sequence into the Aprisa and create
an Event. Set the loop inpoint (under SETTINGS in the Event Editor) for
both video stream (fill and key) to be at frame 120 or 00:00:04:01. This
will create an eight-second animation that flys-on and then loops forever.
Additionally, you could have this sequence aniamte onto the screen with
sound effects. Set the loop inpoint at 00:00:04:01 for the two video
streams and set the loop inpoint for the audio streams at 00:00:00:00 and
the audio effect would only play once while the video looped forever!

New iAprisa Web Streaming Option - Shipping October 10th!!

Playback from disk or live recordings are encoded in real-time and streamed
out to the Internet in Real Networks G2 SureStream or Microsoft ASF
formats. Clips can also be batch transcoded to a variety of new media file
formats including a user-definable XML. This software option converts any
Aprisa 200 or 250 DDR into a extremely high-quality web streamer that
simultaneously archives incoming media at broadcast, 601 resolution.

The iAprisa WebCorder features:
- High-end, D1 Broadcast Video Recorder/Player
- Records Quality Media for Archive, Editing, and Re-Broadcasts
- XML Export for External Web Browsing
- Live Input Streaming Media Encoder
- Real-Time Streaming Media Digital File Transcoder

Microsoft, Chyron Sign Joint Development, Cooperation
Agreement For Enhanced TV Technology

Joint Collaboration Aimed at Developing Content Creation and
Deployment Tools For the Microsoft TV Platform, Accelerating
Availability of Enhanced TV Services

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at the 2000
Western Cable Show, Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT - news) and
New York-based Chyron Corp. (NYSE: CHY - news) announced the
signing of a joint development and cooperation agreement to
integrate Chyron's interactive television production and
streaming media products and services with Microsoft's
TV platform and Windows Media(TM) Technologies.
(Photo: newscom.com )

This agreement is intended to enable the large installed base
of Chyron character generators and graphics systems, as well
as new Chyron products, to be used for the production of
interactive TV programming. Chyron's products are widely used
by the television industry. Because it takes advantage of
production tools already in use, interactive TV programming
is expected to have minimal impact on the television
production workflow. The agreement also includes a plan for
the co-marketing and promotion of jointly developed
interactive TV products and services. In addition to the
joint development and cooperation agreement, Microsoft, as
part of this expanded relationship, has agreed to make a $6
million minority equity investment in Chyron.

Chyron is an industry leader in the development and delivery
of products and services in the mediacasting market, which
includes standard television broadcasting, high-definition
TV, interactive TV and any form of broadband delivery. The
Microsoft® TV platform is a comprehensive, standards-based,
client and server software solution that enables network
operators to deliver the enhanced TV experience and services
to viewers and subscribers. This development agreement will
help both companies accelerate the deployment of enhanced TV
services to consumers worldwide.

As part of the agreement announced today, Chyron will do
the following:

-- Optimize its Lyric creation and playback graphics
package for interactive TV content on the Microsoft TV
platform
-- Develop broadcast gateway tools for the real-time and
automated insertion of interactive TV data into the
broadcast stream
-- Develop previewing tools for use with Microsoft TV to
allow content creators to accurately preview
interactive TV content before that content is
recorded, aired or distributed
-- Optimize its streaming technologies and services for
Windows Media Technologies

In addition, Microsoft and Chyron will work together to help
shape the design of new-generation TV software and services
for the Microsoft .NET initiative and will help coordinate
Microsoft's work with television-standards bodies worldwide.
Microsoft .NET is an initiative that allows the creation of
truly distributed Web services that integrate and collaborate
with a range of complementary services for consumers and
businesses, making information available any time, any place
and on any device.

``Chyron shares Microsoft's vision of the ultimate success of
interactive TV and the vast opportunities for media
distribution over the Internet,'' said Roger Henderson, chief
executive officer of Chyron. ``The broadcast industry is
undergoing a revolution driven by interactive TV and the
delivery of streamed content over the Internet, and we are
committed to developing products and providing services for
this new mediacasting world. Already, Chyron has launched an
Interactive Division and a Streaming Services Division,
enabling us to span the technology continuum from the
Internet to broadcast. Nowhere do those two technologies
converge more completely than in the world of interactive TV.
We have formed a close working relationship with Microsoft
over the past two years in the process of developing
prototype products, and we look forward to continuing to work
together on bringing interactive TV products to market.''

``By teaming with such an established and successful member
of the television industry, we believe we can speed the
availability of enhanced TV services and ensure that network
operators and content developers get the right tools to
quickly, efficiently and effectively bring enhanced TV to
their viewers,'' said Alan Yates, vice president of sales and
marketing for Microsoft TV.

``Chyron has fantastic penetration in the TV market, and it
is a name people in the industry know and trust. Adding the
Chyron team's expertise and reputation to the Microsoft TV
platform only strengthens our ability to provide great
services to our partners and the entire industry.''
