It could take many months or many years. Large corrections such as this one take time to heal. It got much to easy for the average fool to make a fortune on WallSt, and now the Market Gods want their money back. When I started trading it was the Ag markets and they where in a real bear market. I lost a lot of money to learn that these things will end when they end..but not to spend a lot of time or money worrying about it or trying to pick the bottom.

SpecialK,

>>>The Dow and S&P are in correction territory. Nasdaq went too high and is now near last October, November levels.
Is there reason to think this will take years to recover?<<<

I believe you took that comment out of context. My comment was in response to an inquiry concerning a hypothetical situation where a TRUE BEAR MARKET occured, where the overall market dropped more than 40%. The overall market is no where near a 40% drop now with the SPX only down around 10%.
