Delbert, I don't need to start jumping on anyone for any reason. One needn't look far to find a post where you insult someone on this subject. Number 80228 makes it clear that you think "believers" are irrational. That sort of thing bothers some people. As for American Indians, I think there was a time when differing beliefs or lack of respect for other beliefs might have had unpleasant consequences. I don't think you would have fared well in that environment. If I was at a public event that involved a spiritual invocation by an American Indian, I would either mumble along the best I could or try to behave in a respectful and appropriate way. In this vein, I have stood in respectful silence for foreign anthems on many many occasions. Not a problem. While you have every right to set yourself off from the prevailing culture, you must understand that there is sometimes a price to pay for this. You have a great deal of control over the price.
