Private Currencies - This is something that is probably scaring a lot of governments. The net way well develop several private currencies and perhaps has some candidates already. An example could be airline miles.

One of the reasons that economies are growing is freer world trade plus an inability of governments to control the value of their currencies for very long except by behaving. As governments lose more control of their domestic economies they will have to behave better too. An example might be the greater difficulty our government has running budget deficits. They are now more constrained - At one time they could run nearly continuous deficts for a period of 40-50 years but that seems to be over.
