Andy - Allchin was responsible for Cairo - which never had any product output. As I understand it, few of the ideas were later included in NT5 / Win2K but not much - the rest was scrapped. And it was people from the NT team who complained about the decision to give up on full Win32 API compliance.

No question Siverberg was a great technical leader and highly respected by his troops. I think the challenge of compatibility was impossible.
