Do you really believe that the average Cuban is more miserable than the average Haitian, El Salvadoran, Guatemalan, etc., or that the governments of those countries are doing more for their poor people than the government of Cuba is?

Have you been in many countries where only the rich can afford medical care? Do you honestly believe that de-socializing Cuban medical care would automatically improve the life of the average Cuban?

Cuba actually is experimenting with small farmers markets and as was already mentioned, family restaurants. That is the start of free enterprise. Black markets slowly become legitimized- because it turns out they work better than the inefficient state controlled markets. You don't need to be afraid that communism will not end in Cuba, it will- what you NEED to worry about is what will replace communism.
