GPRS and brain cancer. While all partys deny that there is any evidence that exposure to wireless phones has caused brain cancer, the RF power generated by GPRS data phones is much greater than that of CDMA phones transmitting the same amount of data. I really believe that in this situation responsible governments should insist that operators use BAT (Best Available Technology) in their systems in order to minimize exposure of their citizen's brains to excessive RF energy. These GPRS data phones generate much more (earlier estimates of the QCOM thread were several orders of magnitude more--remember that CDMA phones use a much more sophisticated system to reduce the RF energy the phone transmits when it is near the base station that do the GSM phones) RF than the cdma phones. It would be prudent to outlaw such phones in the US until NOK accumulates evidence from European and thirld world coumtries to substantiate whether or not long term GPRS usage can increase the risk of brain tumors.
