smthsail,

I have DirecTV and satellite signal characteristics won't do what you are wanting. When I adjust my dish, it doesn't take much movement left/right or up/down to lose the signal. So, a gently rocking boat would prohibit a connection.

Also, to use DirecPC you still need some sort of an "upstream" data link as DirecPC is only "downstream".

You could trade with wireless, but then you wouldn't be able to get CNBC. My broker has recently started offering wireless through Palm(s), Cell phones, or two-way pagers.

I've checked into DirecPC some as I want to be able to camp and live in the desert or mountains and trade during the day. One day soon we'll have two-way satellite connectivity.

I used WebTV to get on line when I was banished
to the far reaches of Bakersfield for a couple
of days in April.

Let me put it this way: to be on line that way
you have to drink many Pina Coladas, or in my
case, a few slugs of stoli......it is a very
frustrating experience.......

BWDIK...:-)
