Answer: Vargas Llosa would still be a Peruvian citizen today.... Vargas Llosa was so miffed at being licked by a Jap that he repudiated his nationality right after the poll.
What a shame for a foremost intellectual like Vargas Llosa not to make it with his own fellows...er...well, perhaps the impoverished Indians, mulattoes, and other mongrel folks resented being lumped with Peru's CWHISP elite (ie Catholic White HISPanic). Anyhow Vargas Llosa is a Spanish citizen now --an example to the whole Latin-American bourgeoisie?
