In the Q1 conference call AMD said to make earnings estimates for Q2 based on 172 mil shares (not sure if I'm exactly right, but close at least).

This cc transcript says,

jc-news.com

"* Shares: Basic shares to increase 1 million per quarter from Q2 base of 152M shares
* For diluted EPS calculations, plan on about 175M shares in Q2, growing slightly after that."

What you're telling us is we will be basing Q2 earnings on roughly 175,000,000 shares, but when a split is announced it will be based on roughly 200,000,000 shares. Correct? So 25,000,000 shares have been allocated, but aren't counted in earnings, but will have to be counted for in a split?

Right.
