Pools of tech talent are developing in other parts of this country. I think this country is large enough to support 3 or 4 major tech centers. Whether SV can remain as THE CENTER, I think is less dependent on the depth of its talent but more on its ability to remain competitive in all ways. You yourself suggested that the SV talent are HO's...if they are willing to go across town for a new job and the highest bid, or rather, the best beni's and stock options than why not across the country.

BTW wrt Datek, why not email them and ask what the 43 k trade was all about?
