i'm telling you, it's definitely possible that they will do nothing...they're so scared of this bubble they have created that the only thing they seem to be able to do about it is keep inflating it. i think they're really worried about this NAZ swoon...it looks so much like Japan in '90...the parallels even down to the minutiae of economic data are eerie.
but whatever they do, it's going to end badly anyway. if they keep hiking, credit markets will simply seize up. if they do nothing, the bubble and inflation will explode in runaway fashion, ultimately leading to an even bigger bust. i think they deserve to be in this predicament. it's their fault things got out of hand in the first place.
