I disagree with this, completely. This human american can't justify paying $30/month for cable modem ($200 installation) or $50 for DSL vs. my $9 old realiable 56K connection. This despite the fact that my geek instincts want me to buy it, plus I use the internet maybe 10-15 hours/week, a significant amount of time.

Yes, there are some north americans that have the need for speed and some that dont care cause they have too much money, but I would guess I represent the mass market.....which is waiting for the cost to come down a bit more to make it worth it.
