Thank you. I am a native Washingtonian, and hence, admittedly partial. However, I also know the region better than most of the people in it, much less outsiders, and it is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. I have already talked about the Mall in something just posted. Drive along the George Washington Parkway, on the Virginia side of the Potomac, for an excellent view of the skyline of the city; ride the main stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue between the Capitol and White House (until Clinton, all the way to Georgetown); drive up Connecticut Avenue for urban diversity and a glimpse of several liveable neighborhoods; and there is much more to it. It is less overwhelming, but more beautiful, than Manhattan........
