The funny thing is that he used to want to move to Florida, until he and my mother visited with a friend of his, and he discovered that he didn't much care for it. Then he started getting around the city more (the buses have elevators for wheelchairs), and he realized how great it was to live in Washington.....He serves on a couple of city committees on helping people with disabilities, and received recognition from the mayor. He has been fortunate to have been able to have gotten around in his electric wheelchair, with the help of Metrobus and the subway. Also, my mother has a van, when needed.......
