>>Al Gore is privy to a lot of information from which he constructs his proposals for the next administration.

The next President will follow his own proposals, not those from AlGore the Junior or his cronies.

Remember, Clinton-AlGore the Junior famously lied in their 1992 campaign centerpiece - the "middle class tax cut". Clinton and AlGore the Junior used it to get elected and then justified their lie with another lie, saying they were given the wrong figures. So Clinton proposed the largest tax increase in history instead. As Stephanopoulos later said, "Clinton kept all the promises he meant to keep".

AlGore the Junior supplied the deciding vote for the lie/unneeded tax hike.

Do you have even a vague idea of how things are run? The fact is that Bush is responsible for selecting advisors; setting the general goals, establishing the priorities and values that will inform his administration; and adjudicating when advisors conflict. Otherwise, it generally accepted that in most instances one accepts the views of the person holding the "portfolio", because he has the expertise and has put in the time. There is always "downward" deference, as well as "upward" deference. The leader is supposed to harmonize things by allocating overall resources, adjudicating among competing views, and so forth, and has the final say, but he almost never per se originates policy, except in the broadest strategic outlines...........

TP,
Do you ACTUALLY believe Gore can construct anything of substance?? How can he think of anything with his nose up clinton's a** all the time?? Gore has not had an original thought in his life. Now, when it comes to things like claiming he invented the internet, he's really good at bemused commentary. Dream on Pussy Foot!! ~H~

Someone suggested earlier that Bush hire on Clinton as a "close personal advisor" after the election. I think the American public would welcome this, given Clinton's continuing popularity, and the recognition that the wealth of experience a man gains during eight years in office should not be wasted.
