FCC Rescinds "Gore Tax":

WASHINGTON (CBC.MW) - The average American family could save at least $2.50 a month on its phone bills under a new set of rules involving complicated government-set phone fees.

Businesses will also save money.

The Federal Communications Commission unveiled the new rules Wednesday afternoon. The rules, covering so-called access charges, will result in a $3.2 billion reduction in phone fees, FCC Commissioner William Kennard said during a press conference.
