For better or worse, corporations can do stupid things, lose money, have no purpose, and still be quite legal. There is nothing wrong with the notion that a corporation does not make any money - look at the internet companies.

But like I said, I never actually created a company with no revenue, so you would want real advice, not just my opinion.

As far as the second point, there are a number of "aggregate" groups you can qualify for - sometimes it is a local chamber of commerce group, sometimes a small business association. These groups are treated as one entity for insurance pricing purposes even though there are separate policies and companies in the group. Several attorneys I know get their insurance this way - they are 1 and 2 man shops but get the group rate through a local legal association.
