They have not crippled an industry - ah, hyperbole!, they are in many cased absolutely thriving - it's just not an industry which fits your idea of what it should be - an industry where the price is always increasing? Why not start a new thread 'Gold - what might have been - if only'?

And for an investor interested in all of the things you mention - there will be excellent pickings in this sector - and you'll see the results in the market price of the better companies when all of this propaganda is seen for what it is.

Yes, you have to look at the extent of the companies hedge. Not all companies hedge however.

Have you even noted how mouch hedging has been reduced?
