Okay, guilty as charged. I do not regret it, it seems to me to be a hallmark of civilization to know when to be blunt and when to be tactful. I will freely admit that sincerity is overrated, and that benevolence and good taste dictate a social facade. I do not think it should be carried to extremes, for example, pretending to be friends with someone one doesn't care for, but I do think that one needn't be rude in most circumstances......
