Microsoft's biggest crime (IMHO) is that the poor and misleading documentation of the interfaces has pushed the cost of software development much higher. There is a great deal of trial and error associated with using the interfaces. The net result is that programming is more labor intensive than before, and is therefore subcontracted to countries with cheaper labor. While much software is built in the U.S. nearly all is for proprietary (non-PC) platforms when the greatest potential is on the PC platform. TP
