OT Clinton beats up on small weak countries and women.<G>. Those are not "nerves of steel" merely the behavior of a sociopath. No way would Clinton get into any actual military confrontation with the Chinese in the far East. He might withold their MFN status as a trade for an actual invasion of Taiwan from the Mainland. They really don't need to invade though. A constant barrage of threats and intimidation coupled with the US appearing to back down on any threats of reprisal for anything is enough to call our resolve into question.

Hello Badon518, interesting and correct observations.

To build on what you see, the reason ... "I just don't see him as any different in his China policy than his predecessors or his likely successor (George W.)" ... is simple, as in what has to be must be. Such is the truly dirty business of politics which to me ranks much lower than prostitution, legal or otherwise.
