"Lincoln was of old American stock; Ju rez a full-blooded Indian."

[from your url] - Wow ... i humbly submit that Ju rez was of older american stock than Lincoln, lol ... [Amerigo himself was an italian, and his name was given to the continents by a german, funny how all this stuff gets mixed up, eh]

Well, on 'recognising' the church - i'm not sure that permitting them the right of peaceful assembly and the right to own again their own churches amounts to a loss of separation of church and state ... and imho it was a refreshing change from the Calles policy of shooting them ... i think you know how completely agnostic i am ... but some of our species like that sort of thing [we have cristeros in the families], and it's fine with me if they don't push it on me ... they have the right, imho.

Certainly the church has been part of the problem, but individuals within it have also been parts of the solutions from time to time ... one i consider a good friend is an ordained priest ... if you ever get a chance to read 'The Lawless Roads' by Graham Greene, it gives an idea of what it was like for the faithful in the 20s and 30s ... not pretty, and not fair.

We have to get over all those old hatreds ... and yes, we have to stop making so many babies, for sure ... ok, really got to go now ... cheers
