The Microsoft response is posted on their web site-
Anyone who has any interest in tech stocks should read this
DEFENDANT MICROSOFT CORPORATION?S COMMENTS ON PLAINTIFFS? REVISED PROPOSED FINAL JUDGMENT

This response hacks up the government "splitup plan" very effectively and shows them to be technical buffoons who do not know what they are talking about. If the judge rubber stamps this trash, he will be laughed at out loud in the Federal Appeals Court or the US Supreme Court chambers in my opinion. Disclosure - I hold no MSFT.

Now *really. You're giving MUCH more credit to the DoJ and in fact, the entire legal actions(s) [plural] than MSFT *ever has. It's a bit revisionist to say that folks would be more intimidated by Joel Klein than Bill Gates. --- Then too, to my mind, calling MS "a bunch of techies... not lawyers" strikes me as flat out over the top, particularly in this context. --- Respectfully fascinated, <g> -JCJ
