QCOM--Kyocera to produce cellular phones in Brazil
SOUTH AMERICAN BUSINESS INFORMATION - May 31, 2000 17:27
Kyocera plans to produce cellular phones in Brazil after having acquired Qualcomm's operations last December. Qualcomm's cellular phones are produced in
Brazil by Flextronics in Sao Paulo. The plant's monthly production ranges from 70,000 to 90,000 units. Qualcomm has been developing a new CDMA cellular
phone model that will allow Vesper, in which it holds a 16.2% stake, to improve its data transmission services in the 17 states it operates.
