Canary, <...many zero would have to be added to what I own now to bring it back to where it was a few short months ago. If the stock drops into the 50's I will put more meaningful money to work, but I'll never have has much as I did at one time.> So you think Alan Green$pan doesn't have to worry about the Wealth Effect any more? You think the SUV order books have emptied over the past month or two with the double whammy of gasoline and share prices? No more interest rate increases?

How about the psychological effect, "Sudden Wealth Syndrome" which had people running to their shrinks and psychologists to help them with their changed lives, even depression, because of all the wealth they suddenly had to deal with, understand and the changes in friends, living place, quitting work - all sorts of problematic issues?
