Amy, RE: I'll put my bet on Intel and maybe pick up some leaps.

Given the premiums that Intel LEAPS trade for historically and recently, it would make more sense if you wanted to lever a position in Intel to buy stock on margin instead.

Re: "Demand is huge according to Intel per the shareholder's meeting. Not sure why that isn't apparent in the market research material, or why there seems to be a disconnect between Intel execs and the market research firms?"

I still question if Intel is putting enough new capacity in place. As best I can figure, new capacity will come from new fabs going up in Ocotillo & Rio Rancho, plus conversions of existing, formerly non-Intel fabs at Colorado Springs and Hudson. What about when xbox hits it's stride and with the People's Republic of China opening up, what if they decide they want computers? If StrongArm should become a real hit and the new network architecture should meet wide acceptance, will Intel once again find themselves unable to meet demand? Merced and Xeons are no doubt very large dies and if we've only got a small percentage of future server needs in place, is there going to be capacity to supply demand? All of these are products which are above and beyond the current mainstream desktop x86 line which is itself capacity constrained in a major way. Oh and did I mention Willamette or Flash?
