Bill and thread,

From CBS MarketWatch:

"Qualcomm (QCOM: news, msgs) rose 3/8 to 66 3/4, said Madoff, after falling 10 points on Wednesday. China Unicom said that plans to build a wireless communications network based on CDMA technology was still on track, the China Daily reported, citing an unidentified company spokesperson. On Tuesday, reports surfaced that China Unicom told analysts that it would not adopt CDMA. "

Wasn't this the CSFB stuff that drove it down yesterday. Do think they can say it again and have the same effect?

Re. Q's long term potential

A sustainable long growth rate of 50% is assessed by Zacks.com without specific inclusion of China deals.

William,

I remember Marc Cabi @ CS First Boston being negative about the QCOM in the middle of 1998. The stock was @ about $6.25(split twice).

He has always been negative. ERICY is his baby. Thank goodness many of us didn't listen to him then either.
