Collis said China was probably the company's fastest growing market in the region. ``It is very Internet savvy,'' he said. what does Dreman think China is, a mom and pop poor shop with 1 billion starving individuals? doesn't he realize that China is one of the world's largest paging market (if not the largest now) - more people use pagers in China than any other nation in the world (closing in on the 100 million person mark). what does this say about China's citizenary's ability to capitalize on technology growth? For some folks on this thread this is old....Back in August of 98 Drew Swiss called me while I was working in the gardens....He was ecstatic about a Reuters release from Mort Topfer that predicted DELL's rise in China....Since Drew and I had been friends for over two years at this point he was well aware of my insatiable desire for news out of China....Mohan used to email me all news on China knowing that I had a small collection of DELL info from China....I really don't profess to be the expert on China...I just have this opinion that their cultural position (family...one child....Want that child to "go to Princeton"...or at least have the Princeton Library at their disposal) and economic frugal spending practices make DELL a natural with the people....I've read how they save save save....But, when they buy .....They buy what they believe is "the deal"....So, naturally my opinions of DELL are hopefully being adopted rapidly in CHINA....Darrel, that Reuters release....Mort was predicting this: "CHINA would be DELL's #2 market within five years"....And then late last year Michael commented that "CHINA WAS ALREADY PROFITABLE AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE"...was for me a confirmation of Mort's prediction....Hey, Michael flew to CHINA quite awhile ago so I emailed him telling him of my excitement with DELL's move into CHINA.. and he actually emailed me after his visit with the Vice Premier...."YES, THE PHONE LINES IN CHINA TODAY WILL BE THE PC LINES FOR THE NEXT TEN YEARS"...I frankly don't care what this guy Dreman thinks....I have cheated off DELL management for over four years...But, let's face it...If Don Collis is talking of another DELL expansion in CHINA ..I'm lovin' it and that's all I'm concerned with....Now, who do you trust? :o) Best, Kemble
