Dell news release today:

(in case you've not heard of Migratech, MIGR, they collaborated with Intel in developing a process of reducing the manhours required to transfer 32bit platforms to 64bit. MIGR's solution decreases required manhours by a substantial margin over competitors' solutions. An example of the importance of this transfer technology is the Palm Pilot which is 32bit (very needed technology, especially for your coming 3g technology base). It is estimated it would take at least 2000 software engineers working nearly two years under conventional methods to perform the source code conversion to 64bit for the Palm Pilot. With MIGR's technology, that process is reduced to days. There's a whitepaper on the subject on Intel's site if you're interested. This is not a suggestion to purchase MIGR stock - but an attempt to illustrate that Dell is consistently ahead of the curve in implementing new technologies. Intel was first, Dell second. Compaq and others should have already been here - where is Compaq's superior R&D team regarding this matter? Where is Dreman's superior R&D "significant others" in this regard?)

Company Press Release
Dell and MigraTEC Sign Agreement for MigraTEC to Provide Migration Tools and Consulting Services to Dell Precision Workstation ISVs and Customers
MigraTEC Provides Expertise for Migration From 32-Bit to 64-Bit Platforms Using Migration Workbench Technology
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2000-- MigraTEC, Inc. (OTCBB:MIGR - news), the leading provider of automated platform migration technology announced today that the company has signed a consulting services agreement for MigraTEC to assist Dell Precision Workstation ISVs and customers with upgrading software applications from 32-bit platforms to the 64-bit Intel© Itanium(TM) platform.

MigraTEC, based in Dallas, will provide migration technology expertise, process consultation services and Migration Workbench(TM) technology to Dell Precision Workstation ISVs and customers. MigraTEC's technology automates the process of upgrading software application source code from the 32-bit to the much more robust 64-bit architecture, thereby dramatically reducing cycle-time and significantly reducing systems cost.

The initial agreement and associated revenues calls for MigraTEC to work with a number of Dell Precision Workstation ISVs and customers, including significant Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and major corporate enterprises, to upgrade an initial software application using MigraTEC's leading-edge technology for migrating applications to the 64-bit Intel© Itanium(TM) platform.

The initial applications represent only a small fraction of the total code needing to be migrated. As a result of this agreement, MigraTEC will have the opportunity to contract with these ISVs and customers to upgrade a significant number of additional applications.

``By helping our customers and ISVs migrate to the IA-64 platform, we will continue to optimize Dell Precision Workstations for today's Internet business and e-commerce activities,'' said Gretchen Cole, senior manager, product planning, Dell Precision Workstations. ``As the worldwide leader in the personal workstation market,(a) Dell is committed to helping our customers benefit from next-generation platforms.''

``Migration Workbench(TM) technology can help companies optimize their e-commerce technical infrastructure,'' said Curtis Overstreet, president and CEO of MigraTEC, Inc. ``By moving mission-critical applications to the 64-bit platform and consolidating applications on a single operating system, companies can create more manageable, cost-efficient and reliable systems.''

Today's announcement follows the May 2 news that Intel Corporation and MigraTEC are working jointly to optimize the process of porting applications to the IA-64 architecture.

According to Overstreet, ``This is MigraTEC's first introduction to the market of our next-generation technology. MigraTEC is unique in providing automated solutions for migrating mission-critical applications to 64-bit platforms. By working closely with Dell, we will help enterprises and ISVs quickly and efficiently migrate key applications to the new Intel© Itanium(TM) platform.

``We'll be working with a select group of Dell Precision Workstation ISVs and customers that includes a mix of corporate enterprises and software vendors,'' added Overstreet. ``This agreement represents MigraTEC's entree into the estimated 50,000 ISVs that develop applications for the Windows-Intel market. It's further evidence that MigraTEC is building a solid business by combining the right products with the right business relationships and the right industry partners.''

MigraTEC's Migration Workbench(TM) software automates the platform migration or upgrade of C and C++ application software. MigraTEC's software solutions are marketed to leading-edge companies, such as systems integrators, e-commerce solutions providers, independent software vendors, hardware and operating systems OEMs, and other companies that need to migrate mission-critical application software from one platform or environment to another, including 32 to 64-bit platforms, from UNIX to Linux, UNIX to UNIX and UNIX to Microsoft© Windows NT© and Windows 2000(TM).
