Mine look a lot like yours, except that some are v-shaped and some chisel-shaped, and a couple of mine curve more. And of course, two are bent. I am tempted to buy myself one of those fancy electronic cameras - may well give in to temptation. Are you using a Mavica?

Like you said, they seem to bend both ways, lol

What I notice is that the chisel point is symmetric. Equal bevel on both sides. That should drive in straight, and that sort of moots my elaborate theories on wood-induced torque. (The bind of ties.)

I am hereby converting to the Ishian catechism of tie splitter induced bending.
